Cereal Box Book Project

Reading Cereal Boxes 033

When Peter Fortune was 10 years old people would say “he’s difficult”.  Peter didn’t know why they said that he was difficult.  People just didn’t understand him.  Peter was a normal boy who stared at the sky or stayed up in his room all day.

Next August morning Peter and his sister Kate got on the school bus.  When Peter gets off the bus at school he remembers that he has left his little sister on the bus.  The bus has already pulled off so Peter runs to catch up with it.  Peter runs so fast that he passes his sister who has already gotten off of the bus and has to shout out for him to stop.  Then Peter and his sister Kate walk back to school.  As Peter is in class he hears the other teachers talking about him staring off into space.  He then begins to write an explanation as to why he is always staring off.  He is always staring off because he is daydreaming about dolls attacking him, becoming a cat, his next dorr neighbor being a burglar, and switching bodies with a baby and so much more.

One year later on a quiet weekend Peter is playing with his friend at the beach cabin, his parents have rented for the summer he begins thinking about what it is that grownups do all day.  That night he daydreams about growing up.  In his daydream he does everything that a grownup would do.  Eating his toast, drinking his coffee, reading a newspaper, taking walks and talking to his assistant at his science lab in Paris.  But then he comes back to reality and now he knows exactly what grownups must do every day and respects them even more.  He goes back outside where his sister Kate tells him she has found treasure.  Peter begins running so fast he begins to fly.  Or is he DAYDREAMING!!!!!
